Mom 2.0 Summit

So this past weekend was the Mom 2.0 Summit - probably best summed up by Gwen Bell - check out her post - Do Wonder Woman Pants Flashings + Nursing Bra Flingings Count as Link Bait? + The Other Top 20 Most Memorable Mom 2 Summit Moments AND Isabel Kallman of Alpha+Mom - her post can be found at -My 10 Most Memorable Moments at the Mom 2.0 Summit !!

I got the chance to photograph some along with Mark C. Austin (totally awesome music photographer) and Ziv Gillat (Eye-Fi wonderman and fashion photographer). Very talented peeps. If you haven't heard of Eye-Fi, I suggest you check it out...it's pretty rad. Especially if you like way cool photo gadgets. And if you haven't heard of Mark C. Austin, you had better check him out too.

The conference officially kicked off on Thursday afternoon and by Friday night for the Carnivale! Party, it was in full swing. I can't post all the pics here, these are just a few of my favorites so if you want to see more visit me on my Flickr page - yumyumtree - my link is in the sidebar. Also, you can check out Mom 2.0 Summit Group -- it has pretty much everyone in the whole world's pictures who took pictures, posted there.

Entertainment for the Carnivale! Party - Andrew Karnavas (not pictured here) Andrea Chase, & Chris Mann. That is Monica Danna in the far right snapping a "behind the scene" shot with her i-phone - where's that picture, Monica- looks like a good angle?!

This is seriously one of my favorites the whole night. During the Burger King parade, things got a little crazy.

Let me give you some background on the next image: Nathan Pacheco (one of the four voices of Yanni Voices) had just made his surprise appearance and the ladies were so thrilled - as you can tell. Amongst the excitement, a nursing bra (remember this is a Mom summit) all of the sudden came flying across the room. The image below is the crowd reaction (and Nathans') to the whole ordeal. It was a riot and he had such a good sense of humor.

Along with all the fun there were some amazing speakers and hands-on training.

There are some extremely talented ladies out there and I think most of them were at this conference! We had so many great authors signing their books!! This is Katherine Center writing a sweet note in her book entitled, Everyone is Beautiful.

Jennifer & Sean

This past weekend I got the chance to meet up with Sean and Jennifer for their engagement shoot. We wandered around town and had a relaxing afternoon - catching an early spring drizzle and being attacked by a bee (the picture is not posted, however, I did get that little bugger on camera as Jen tried to get away and Sean came to the rescue!) Yeah, it was cute....but I'm not sure they would think the same!! As you can see, they are clearly, totally, and adorably in love and I can't wait for the wedding -- this time I get to be in it and we will welcome Sean into a little thing we like to call "the circle of trust."

Stay posted for Sean and Jen's Save the Date Cards coming soon!!!

Danya & Abed

I wanted to share some of my favorite images from Danya & Abed's engagement party in January. They are a super amazing couple and I can not wait for the wedding in August! We had about 45 mintues before their grand entrance into the party, so we took it off site to do some night shots since it was already dark. I really do like shooting in the day time, really I do!! But this is always a challenge and way fun! Check them out!!

CosmoPolitician Says Goodbye to 2008 in True M.D. Style

I thought I would go ahead and start off the new year with a new blog and some fresh photos from the last few sessions of '08!!

I have been wanting to go out and about around Houston for some night shots for some time now, and when I asked Monica, aka, CosmoPolitician, --who, by the way, is like a mega fashionista and pure Houstonian at heart-- to tromp around Houston for a shoot, she was like "heck yeah!", I was like, "Sa-weeeeeet." So I showed up an hour early to check out some outfits with her and Michelle. 2 1/2 hours, 5 fav. outfits from 2008, and a suitcase full of shoes and accessories later.....we hit the town.....
